There has been much debate around using blogger blogs or wordpress blogs. For me, wordpress.org is the only way to go. Blogger is owned by google and while it will not cost you anything to have a blogger blog, if your intention is to do niche affiliate marketing I would highly recommend that you host your own blogs.
Why pay for hosting?
The problem with owning a blogger blog is that you never really own the blog and therefore it can be taken away from you at any time and with out notice. In fact I have heard many stories circulating around the Internet from people who have had their blogs taken away without reason.
While blogger blogs may be easier to formulate in comparison to wordpress.org, have no fear because over the next couple of days I will show you step by step how to install a wordpress blog on your own domain and hosting.
The only fee you will be obligated to pay for is the hosting account. Which will run you about $10.00 per month. You will then be able to host multiple blogs on the same hosting account.
If money is an issue for you right now than go ahead over to blogger.com and sign up for a new account. If you already use gmail.com you will only need to enter your user name and password.
For everyone else using wordpress.org, your goal for today is to choose a wordpress theme suitable for your niche website.
Sign Up to Hostgator to host your blogs
I have been using host gator to host all of my websites for under $10 per month. Hostgator is one of the most popular website hosting companies available on the Internet. Most people go with host gator because you are able to host an unlimited amount of websites under one account. The customer support at host gator is available 24 hours for technical issues, which is a good thing to have.
I will be using the interface at host gator to describe how to install your wordpress blogs. Your goal for today is to choose your blog theme and sign up for a hosting account at hostgator

I enjoy your post about starting a blog. I have a hostgator account, but went to blogger.com and set-up blog there as well. I did it for practice and have learn a lot . I agree with you about using a ISP so you own the blog, if you decide to sell it later. I’m new at this but, it is great learning something new. If you would like to see my new blog check it out at http://www.affbuzz.blogspot.com. I think you have a great blog going here. I haven’t made any comments, before, so I hope I doing this correctly.
Thanks William
