Knowing the Competition- Niche affiliate Marketing
Knowing your competition is vital to your success in niche affiliate marketing. You should have already found keywords that you would like to use for your niche marketing from the prior lessons. If you have not decided on your keywords at this point I would suggest that you go back to the beginning and do each step as outlined.
If your keywords phrase has passed the 50/500 rule you still have another step to go through before deciding to use the keyword phrase. You want to determine the competition for the keywords. One way to do this is to go to Google and type in the keywords in quotes.
From this point we will decide to use the keyword if, “in quotes” the competition is no greater than 100,000. Remember our goal is to make it to the first page and possibly first position on Google for our main keyword term. We do our searches with quotes to get a accurate number of websites that really have optimized that keyword. When you do the searches without quotes Google will bring any website with the keyword term in it, optimized or not.
Once you have got a keyword phrase that passes this step you then want to take a look at the first 3 websites that come up in Google. We are looking for a PR (page rank) of 4 and under. If the fist 3 websites that come up have page ranks of 4 or lower we will decide to use the keyword phrase.
So to Recap:
1. Find a niche you are interested in or have knowledge.
2. Use word tracker Gtrend to research the keywords and get ideas for related keywords.
3. Use the 50/500 rule.
4. Check out the competition in google.
This marks the end of our course on finding keywords in Niche Affiliate Marketing. We will learn about article marketing in our next lesson.
