So today I was brainstorming doing keyword research and I came across a fantastic niche. When I say fantastic niche I am referring to a niche with high search volume with low competition. So, I began searching my web affiliate programs (clickbank, cj, share a sale linkshare, etc) to find a product to promote. Well, low and behold I could not find any ( I have never had this dilema) so I decided to do a search in the Google search box. I clicked on the first website that came up in the results and a site with products for my targeted keyword came up. I was excited!
I looked for the affiliate link on the website and at last I found one. Then I clicked on the affiliate link, it took me to a page that read ” Why you should join this affiliate program”. The article basically listed reasons why you should join their affiliate program with the number one reason being that their site was the only one with an affiliate program for my said keyword. Hmmmmm, well I clicked on the link to join the affiliate program and it immediately took me to a server error page with a message to notify the owner of the site. At this point I am not to happy about the whole experience I was having but I still proceeded to call the number listed. I’ll admit I was curious because this niche was an open market. A male person answered the phone and did not state the name of the company(another warning sign). I had to ask him was this (so and so company). He replied “why do you want to know” and I proceeded to tell him I was interested in signing up as an affiliate. I also explained that I tried to sign up on his site and got an error message. He replied “that was strange” (in a I don’t believe you tone), then he said “check back Monday” and he hung up. There was no thank you for taking the time to call and letting me know, nothing like that! Just very rude and short with me the whole time.
So I tell you all this to say that I refuse to work for someone with that type of attitude, I refuse to work for a jerk! I would have to trust that this guy with the bad attitude would pay for the traffic I would be sending over to him. I was not willing to take that chance. When it comes to signing up for web affiliate programs sometimes you have to trust your instincts.
So what do I do now? Well. I think I could outsource the writing of an e-book on the topic or I could create a membership site on the topic and include how too videos. So this will go on my To Do List of course : )

Oh ya! Become his competition. You’ll get all the business! Wouldn’t that be fun?!
