Simply said affiliate marketing is sales. So Affiliates = Sales.
Who are Affiliates
Affiliates are individuals who sign up with companies and agree to promote and sell their products for an aggreed upon commision. So an affiliate is the middle man between the company and the consumer.
Who are Merchants?
Merchants: The company that pays the affiliate to market their products.
Why does Affiliate Marketing work?
1. This realitionship has really worked well so far , the companies profit because they don’t have to spend as much money to advertise and promote their products because the affiliates do that for them.
2. The affiliates benefits because they don’t have the cost of starting a business and stocking products and they do not have to deal with the cost associated with opening a brick and mortar business. They get paid a commission for the sales they bring to that company.
More and more big name companies such as Walmart, Best Buys and Target to name a few are partnering up with affiliates to sell their products.
Next time you visit a website that offers products for sale, just take a look on the home page and more often than not you will notice a line for affiliates or resellers and partners.
